South Wales Trail Half Marathon and 10k

The South Wales Trail Half Marathon and 10k takes place on Bank Holiday Monday 29th August 2016. It will take place around the stunning Llanwonno Forest, just north of Pontypridd. 

The Route

The route consists of a combination of farmland, forestry trails, dirt tracks and single track with amazing views across South Wales and the Valleys. It is a hilly course that will provide a great challenge with 600m of ascent (1978 feet) and descent. The route is fully marked and marshalled.

Registration, Briefings and Start Time

All entrants will be required to attend registration at the event base between 0730 -0845. At 0850 there will be an event briefing and following this the race will start at 0900.

Compulsory Kit 

There is a compulsory kit list that must be carried. You must carry the following:

Waterproof Clothing top and bottom (this may be relaxed to windproof depending on conditions)
Footwear Suitable for Trail Running
Mobile Phone
Emergency blanket/bag
Basic First Aid Kit 
Water and Food appropriate to your needs for the duration of the event

The cost of the race is £25 for the half marathon and £20 for the 10k.
There are 350 places available for the 2016 event.
