         This blog provides details of the checkpoint locations, supplies, cut-off times and supporter / crew guidance for the PCP Trail Races.

           There are 12 manned checkpoints for the PCP100 race, 7 checkpoints for the PCP50 mile race, 5 checkpoints for the PCP ultra bach 50km, and 3 for the PCP 22 mile trail race. 
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Checkpoints provide a mixture of sweet and savoury snacks and hot and cold drinks as listed below. Each event distance (100, 50, 22 miles and 50km) has a separate list so please scroll down to find your specific race distance checkpoint guide. There is also some additional information to read for all checkpoints at the bottom of the blog.

  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;

            There is no support crew parking directly by the checkpoint at Fishguard, and instead supporters or crew should park in the local public car parks, and walk to the checkpoint. Runners must still report to the checkpoint even if they are only planning on meeting race crew in the car park.

    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Failure to report to the Fishguard checkpoint results in a 30 minute time penalty

            There are 7 checkpoints on the 100km race, 5 on the 40 mile Ultra Trail and 4 on the marathon. The race checkpoint location and distances are described below. The checkpoint locations can best be seen on the interactive maps available on the main event page.

      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Water will be provided at all checkpoints along with a mix of snacks. As is standard in Ultras and as per your compulsory kit there will not be any plastic cups for water or hot drinks. If you would like a hot drink you must have a suitable hard plastic cup and hot drinks will not be served into soft flasks or soft cups. Larger checkpoints will provide more substantial food,  details of which can be found below.

            Some of the checkpoints are remote with minimal parking or restricted access and therefore there are some points on the route and checkpoints which supporters or race crew are not allowed. There are also some parking restrictions and considerations at other checkpoints. Specific details of which are provided below on the checkpoints guide.

           The images below show a fully packed drop bag (left picture) with the kit that was packed into it (right picture). The spare kit includes some size 9.5 HOKA Stinson trainers, a spare winter mid-layer, spare running leggings, spare t-shirt, spare socks, K-tape, lip balm, s-caps (electrolytes), body glide (lube), blister plasters, and some additional energy gels, drink powders and wine gums for the next section of the race. Of course it is up to you to decide what to pack in your drop bag.

           There are 12 manned checkpoints for the Dragon 100 race, 7 for the Dragon 50 race and 4 for the Dragon 30. Checkpoints provide a mixture of sweet and savoury snacks and hot and cold drinks as listed below. Each event distance (100, 50 and 30 miles) has a separate list so p

           Fruit is oranges, bananas; toast is with butter and jam; sandwiches with jam, chocolate spread, cheese or marmite. Crisps will be frazzles and salt n vinegar sticks. Biscuits are Oreo, chocolate digestive or Jaffa cakes. Crackers are salted. High five energy source drink powder is available at all checkpoints, but will need to be made up per serving so you know how much is being put in.

           Checkpoints may have some additional supplies, however the list above is the minimum you can expect.

            - Dragon 50 mile drop bags can be collected on Sunday morning between 0530-0600 from the event base at the Norwegian Church, Cardiff Bay .

  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;

           The drop bags are pictured below and are the same standard issue drop bags that we have used at other events this year including the Brecon to Cardiff, Rasus Y Bannau and PCP. You can re-use bags from previous races if it helps you to pack them before the event - just remember to clearly label them with your race number and drop bag number for the current race!
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;

           Drop bags will be handed to the race team at the respective race starts after the race registration closes.

           All drop bags will be returned to the event HQ in Cardiff Bay once the Llantwit checkpoint has closed at approximately 1930 on Sunday.

    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;

    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           The images below show a fully packed drop bag (left picture) with the kit that was packed into it (right picture). The spare kit includes some size 9.5 HOKA Stinson trainers, a spare winter mid-layer, spare running leggings, spare t-shirt, spare socks, K-tape, lip balm, s-caps (electrolytes), body glide (lube), blister plasters, and some additional energy gels, drink powders and wine gums for the next section of the race. Of course it is up to you to decide what to pack in your drop bag.

           Please remember that your support crew and any event supporters should be polite and respectful to the event team volunteers and respect the local communities which the race passes through.              There are 13 manned checkpoints for the BB 100 mile race, 6 checkpoints for the BB 50 mile race, 3 checkpoints for the BB South 50km, and 3 for the BB North trail race.

             Checkpoints provide a mixture of sweet and savoury snacks and hot and cold drinks as listed below.            For the Black Beacon 50 mile ultra one drop bag will be taken to Llangynidir Village Hall (CP4).

    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           The drop bags are provided and will allow you to fit a spare set of trainers, some running kit (spare base layer (etc) and some energy food. These will be collected at the race start. 
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;

  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           The drop bags are pictured below and are the same standard issue drop bags that we have used at other events this year including the Brecon to Cardiff, Rasus Y Bannau, PCP and Dragon. You can re-use bags from previous races if it helps you to pack them before the event - just remember to clearly label them with your race number and drop bag number for the current race!

           Drop bags will be handed to the race team at the respective race starts after the race registration closes.

           All drop bags will be returned to the event HQ in Hay-on-wye once the Lllangynidir checkpoint has closed. You may collect your drop bag direct from Llangynidir if you finish early, but you should ring the race directors before heading off in case the drop bag is in transition.

           The images below show a fully packed drop bag (left picture) with the kit that was packed into it (right picture). The spare kit includes some size 9.5 HOKA Stinson trainers, a spare winter mid-layer, spare running leggings, spare t-shirt, spare socks, K-tape, lip balm, s-caps (electrolytes), body glide (lube), blister plasters, and some additional energy gels, drink powders and wine gums for the next section of the race. Of course it is up to you to decide what to pack in your drop bag.
          &#xD;

           Support Crews (teams) are acceptable - these are people who can meet you on the route with extra provisions / kit - YOU MUST CARRY THE COMPULSORY KIT AT ALL TIMES.

  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;

           A support runner or pacer is someone who runs the course alongside you.

      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;

           Support runners are not allowed on the Trail race, 50km ultra bach or 50mile race. 
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;

    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;

           100mile support runners
          &#xD;
    &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;

           100mile support runners (pacers) are ONLY allowed at the following times: 
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           - From CP3 Llangynidir to CP6 Ystradfellte (through Friday night)
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           - From 1800 on Saturday evening until the race finish (through Saturday night)
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Any runner running with a support runner outside the above times will automatically be disqualified. The support runner can help with verbal encouragement and navigation, but is strictly not allowed to carry any food, water or equipment for the 100mile racer - THE RUNNER MUST CARRY THE COMPULSORY KIT AT ALL TIMES.
