Starting in the historic city of St Davids, the Pembrokeshire Coastal 50k follows one of the most spectacular sections of the Welsh coast path. Rolling cliff-top trails, endless sea views and around 1850m of elevation make this a true coastal challenge. The terrain constantly shifts as the route winds along headlands and bays, with the brilliant blue sea never far from view.
Early summer brings long daylight hours and a vibrant atmosphere throughout the weekend. The race finishes high on the cliffs at a disused WW2 airfield, where runners are welcomed into a lively camping village and finish-line celebration that feels more like a trail festival than the end of a race.

The Dragon Coastal 50k follows the sweeping Vale of Glamorgan coastline on a fast, runnable route that stays close to the sea for much of the day. With minimal elevation and straightforward navigation, it’s a race where you can settle into a rhythm and enjoy the miles as the coastline unfolds beside you. The course passes through Barry before continuing east along the water towards the capital.
What makes this race truly memorable is the finish. After crossing the Cardiff Bay Barrage with the city skyline ahead, runners head into the heart of Cardiff Bay to finish beside the historic Norwegian Church. With a lively July atmosphere and supporters lining the waterfront, it’s one of the most iconic finishes in the series.

The Gower Coastal 50k is a beautifully varied ultra that showcases some of the finest landscapes on the Gower Peninsula. With around 1450m of elevation and constantly changing terrain, it’s a race that keeps runners engaged from start to finish.
Along the way you’ll pass some of the most iconic locations on the Welsh coast — the vast expanse of Rhossili Bay, the atmospheric ruins of Pennard Castle and the breathtaking beauty of Three Cliffs Bay. Taking place in the crisp air of late autumn, the course mixes dramatic scenery with unforgettable moments along the way — including passing beneath a waterfall before climbing back onto the high ground. The Celtic Trail 50k explores the wild forests and rolling hills around Aberdare, taking runners deep into remote landscapes rarely seen by most visitors. With around 1780m of elevation, the route climbs through dense woodland, around quiet reservoirs and onto high trails with sweeping views across South Wales. Despite the sense of wilderness, the fully marked course lets runners focus on the challenge and enjoy the adventure with confidence.
As the final race of the season, the Celtic Trail has a unique end-of-year atmosphere. December brings festive energy, fancy dress and a real sense of celebration as runners close out their trail season together.
