The Gower Coastal Races are a series of coastal trail races set in Britain's first Area of Outstanding Beauty. All three routes take in the best that the Gower has to offer, with trails that closely hug the sea and provide an ever changing terrain and beautiful view after beautiful view.
The event base, in Mumbles Cricket Club, provides a great location for pre-race registration and post race parties! The bar is well stocked and open until late, with the event base providing a great atmosphere as you finish and as you celebrate afterwards.
The three race distances give a variety of challenges. The 50 is a complete circumnavigation of the peninsula with a mix of flat and fast running early on turning into the signature Gower coastline in the stages. The challenge is balancing the easy running whilst still leaving something in the tank. The 34 starts in Weobley Castle and takes runners straight into the trails, with none of the tarmac of the early sections of the 50. The Trail race starts at the Worms Head and is all South Gower trails - rolling climbs and descents, sand and shingle!
